Do you know that food waste is contributing to our climate crisis?
Food waste is the largest volume of waste produced in Indonesia. We generate at least 29 million tons of food waste in 2023
This is equivalent to the weight of 14 million elephants and requires an area as big as Bandung City each year to dump food waste
Poorly managed food waste also generates significant carbon emissions. Indonesia is projected to emit ~300 million tons of CO2e from the waste sector by 2030 if there is no intervention
This is equivalent to the total annual carbon emissions of countries like Malaysia and Spain
